I am a first time volunteer Puppy Raiser for Canine Companions for Independence (CCI). This wonderful organization has been providing Service Dogs, Facility Dogs, Hearing Dogs and Skilled Companions to people in need since 1975. My job for the next 18 months is to socialize, train and prepare the puppy (Helper II) in my care to successfully enter advance training in Oceanside California. I have started this blog to document our journey together.

Helper's Arrival is this Friday March 2, 2012
This Friday at 9:00AM Helper arrives from Northern California. Her flight actually leaves the airport after midnight and connects in Houston before her final flight to Dallas Forth Worth Airport. Helper's Breeder/Caretaker (The Poole Family) has been getting her used to sleeping in a crate so the trip is easier on her. They took this picture when she was 7 weeks old...she is so cute! When the puppies are born they are each given a color to distinguish one from the other. Green is the color that was given to Helper...that is why she is wearing the pretty green bow!
